After a long week of meetings in Manila with ICC partners and organizations, the gentlemen of the Lighthouse Legacy Foundation spent the Sunday afternoon at the Back Alley Barbershop in Central Business District, Makati for a shave and well-deserved pampering while discussing plans for the upcoming film workshop with well-renowned Philippine and international wedding filmmaker, Jason Magbanua.
For 14 years, Jason has been pioneering wedding films in the Philippines and is unequivocally considered as THE top videographer in the country, not just among his clients, but among his peers in the industry as well. Moreover, he has continuously and graciously shared his knowledge of storytelling through numerous workshops around the world, inspiring the next crop of young filmmakers to tell their stories through film.
The passion for change was shared between Zedrik Avecilla (Marketing Director of LMRLF) and Jason, reminiscing back to their college days as wide-eyed students looking to “make a dent in the universe”. Now, both in their thirties, they seek the opportunities to make that dent with the talents and resources they were both blessed with.
Along with good friend and fellow filmmaker Christoffer Dumlao (also the Creative Director of Wondertower Creative and Lighthouse Marina Resort), Jason Magbanua has offered his support in the cause for the International Coastal Cleanup. They will all be teaming up to conduct a (soon-to-be-announced) film workshop/contest sponsored by Harbor Point (Ayala Mall) in September. The workshop will aim to inspire young filmmakers to share their own stories of “change" through the power of storytelling. Through this partnership and participation of the film community, our voice will be heard even louder!
Dedicated in creating a wave of change to help preserve our environment
